My research projects focus on using novel functional genomics approaches to investigate gene regulatory alterations that contribute to human disease, such as asthma and COVID-19. In these projects, I perform both wet lab experiments, as well as the bioinformatic analysis utilizing R and python programming. I also carry out collaborative projects in the Genomics CoLab using standard RNA-seq approaches. I finished my bachelor’s (Biochemistry, honors) and master’s degrees (Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics) in India. I completed my PhD and a year of post-doctoral work at Texas Tech University. I enjoy spending time with the family, hiking and travelling around the bay area, watching sports, and trying different cuisines.
